Vote For Blayze 2069 · furry Kitty cat campaign · Vote For Blayze Media
These are the official registered names – we’re currently workshopping new ideas, so if you have a suggestion, bring it to the next meeting.
The "Vote For Blayze" movement officially started – first as a laugh, then as a real run for the 8DG electorate. The main promise? Better lockers with shelves. It took a year, but we delivered. Also got involved in KMSC, my favourite teacher / care group (KMSC forever). Helped bring the gaga ball pit to life.
Almost lost my position unfairly because a math teacher tried to send me to the reflection room – for helping another student with their iPad. Fought it, got it resolved. One of those moments that showed why we need student advocacy. Still, 2024 was the best year – wish I could spend another day in that class.
Campaign peaked: voted in by KMSC peers as School Captain. Tried to abolish AB Tutor (spyware on school laptops). Administration declined, but we outsmarted them – reported the app to Apple as spyware; now most updated MacBooks refuse to install it. Win.
But personal conflicts hit, attendance slipped, behaviour wasn’t great. Made the tough call to resign as Captain and take Deputy Captain – still regret it, but it kept me in the game.
Chase Fricker joined as Deputy Leader. Emily Fox came on board as Head of Operations. The machine started building.
Met with Senator David Shoebridge (Greens) to discuss the Australian social media ban. That same month, joined the Greens digital trust – started connecting student rights with digital rights.
Asked the student wellbeing leader (SWBL) about running for KMSC – was told I could run. Then pulled back in: “they said I couldn’t do it and if I'm good I might get it in June.” Didn’t stop us. Launched the “write your name on my ballot” campaign – across VFB socials it pulled nearly 2,000 impressions. People are watching.
Fresh faces joined the team: Adora Chapman, Ramsey Hendry, Memphis – welcome to the fight.
Invited to join SA Young Greens – more leverage for student & digital rights at a state level.
If they’re bullshitting, we keep pushing. If they’re serious, we’re bringing the heat. Our updated platform is locked:
The big plan: gather every student’s opinion, compile a massive document (highest page count we can get), and introduce it slowly but relentlessly. “Payback, VFB style.”
Our most viral moment yet – nearly 2,000 people saw it. Proves the appetite for a different kind of campaign. We’re not going anywhere.
… plus everyone who’s submitted ideas, shared posts, or written their name on the ballot.
You know who you are.
Our report to Apple worked. Most new MacBooks refuse to install that spyware. Small win, big precedent.
Promised in 2024, delivered 2025. Took a year, but persistence pays.
Part of the KMSC 2024 crew that brought it in. still there.
We’re compiling every opinion, every complaint, every idea into a single document. Target: highest page count we can physically get. Then we introduce it section by section – to KMSC, to admin, to anyone who’ll listen. They’ll have to read it eventually.
"When we fight, we win."
June is the target. We keep organising, keep listening, keep building the biggest student document this school has ever seen. If they say no, we ask again. And again. And again.
